1. Federal University of Technology Minna

Established in February 1983, this university has emerged as one of the best universities in Nigeria. According to the most recent university rankings of an international higher education search engine and directory in 2017, 4icu, it is the best university of technology in Nigeria.

The university was established to serve as a driving force behind Nigeria’s much-needed self-reliance in Science, Engineering and especially Technology. Today it is known in the areas of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering and has a core competence in the development of vaccines and drugs.

The university which was created in 1981 by former president Shehu Shagari has risen to be one of the best universities of science and technology in Nigeria. Its degree program runs for five years except for architecture which is 6 years.

4. Rivers State University Of Science And Technology (RSUST)

This university made the highest jump in ranking from 2017 when it was the 9th best in technology. The university was established in 1980 making it the one of the first technology university in Nigeria. Like FUTO which was also established in that year, it is one of the best universities of science and technology in Nigeria.

RSUST began as the Rivers State College Of Science And Technology which was established in 1972. Many years later, it has an enrollment range of between 10,000 and 14,999 students.

14. Bells University of technology

This is the first private university of technology in Nigeria, and it is as well one of the smallest, with an enrollment range of between 1,000 and1,999 students.

Beginning in 2005, the University is located at Ota, Ogun state opposite the Covenant University Ota. It currently offers pre-degree program, undergraduate and postgraduate programs to prospective students.

It is a brainchild of the Bells Educational Foundation, which is owned by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
